I just want to say I have never been treated like this. You don't know how you all make me feel. All these years I have always been proud serving and helping out every person around here.
All of you have gone beyond yourselves with helping me out. It really effects me like I haven't ever felt. I had hard time talking to Janet at the Union hall yesterday when she gave me donations from our Local. I will never get over this and when I get back to work I will being doing it even harder to help those who needs the help.
Now on another note, I want to take the time to say thanks to Ron Smith for stepping up to fill my place on the Executive Board until I return.
I'm telling you, in the next few months the Company will be coming after our Insurance and we are going to have everyone willing to stand up to keep what we have. What would be great if every local could get the same insurance that we have. We have to stand up and fight for is right. Just take the time and look at Escanaba's website to get a small taste of what we will be going thru in a few months. Not going to be very good. We have to stand up for what is right and back each other when needed. We are not joking...take the time to talk to Gurvey and Ron and the rest ofthe board members.
I hope that you give Ron and the rest of the board members any help they will be needing from you all. I just hate that I am missing out when I really need to be there helping out, but our Local is #1 right now and here in a few months I will be back stirring up shit again.
Once again I apprieate everything that you all have given to me.

Good morning. I just want to try and get everyone upated on what is going on. I was scheduled to begin treatment last week but the doctors wanted my head where I had the first surgery healed up more before they begin. So no I will be leaving out again on the 17th and will be gone for 7 weeks. I will then be home for 4 weeks and then go back to have them check everything out and fro them to make the decision on where to go from there. So just to let you know ahead of time I will not be able to do alot of remembering of things so you probally will not see any postings on the site. On the other hand I have had so many people from work contact me, my wife will be updating several of you from the mill and I hope everything will be able to get passed around.
I really want to say thanks everyone of you all for all the the great support I have gotten this past month and a half, I just can't get over it. I would rather be out there helping others than others helping me. And sometimes I just don't know how to handle it....I would have never I would have to be on the other side of the fence. So I have been told several times "Deal with it"
so I guess I have no choice 
But I really do want to say thank you to everyone.
Now with all of that said, the rest of the people who have been off work for a year still need a raffle after being off a year and I am behind on that. Janet is selling tickets and she needs some help from others from thoughout the mill to help her sell these tickets. I hope after all my treatments I will also be able to be back out helping out on the selling of these tickets to help the others who are off work. If you are interested please call Janet.

Just got done adding message on Escanaba board. It is really hard seeing these kids worse off. I asked them if I can use money to help some of these kids. some of parents are getting to help stay at McDonald house which they say is greatly helpful financial to them. I am blessed cause I have good job, family and great friends.
I cannot say enough and I hope nobody will get mad at me if I can help just a few here even if it is buying dinner for them.

Here it is Thursday the 22nd. I am finally starting my first treatment. It should be taking off after that and be over before I know it. The next 3 -4 weeks you probally won't be reading any updates on here because they say I will be tired most of the time and to just lay down and sleep. If I am able I will try my best to keep updated if not my wife will be making a few calls to give an update.
I hope that after we get home around the 5th of June I will be back up and ready to cause trouble I will be glad to see everyone.
You all take care and once again thank you all for all of the phone calls and the support you have shown to me. Sorry it took long time to write a message anymore but its hard trying to remember what the heck I am supossed to be writing so I stop and start back again. But better late than never I always say

I just want everyone to know that once I am done with the radiation in June, it should be shunk enough that I should be better at remembering. Once this is done I promise I will try my best to get the website updated the best I can. Right now it is kinda outdated.
I also want to say thank everyone for email and calls and everything else. And I'm glad I am Union, we are no.1.
I also extend my thanks to members at Escanaba Mill, I get calls and emails from them also. Very good people and very dicicated Union members there also.

David, you truly are an inspiration. I wish I had 1/2 your strength and determination. Your going to beat this thing David and you'll come back swinging.
Just a thought; When your memory comes back 100%, don't tell anyone but instead just mess with them and pretend you don't know what is going on. My mind is going 60 miles an hour with ideas. I know you'll get the last laugh.
By the way David, you better start being nice to your wife. When Mike and I were talking to you the other day you were giving her a hard time about her driving. You can't afford to get too mouthy YET or she'll leave your ass home.
Take care David.......we sure talk about you often and hope things are progressing well for you. You're a good man, keep up the fight. We'll keep Bill Smith warmed up for you until you're ready to take him on.

Yep, when we were talking on the phone I think she was about to stop the car and drop me off This was her first time driving in Cape in Missouri and she is not used to driving in a bigger town.
The way the treatment is going I really think they will be shrink it enough to get me back on track. Time will tell when I come back the last week of June when they check everything through some testing. Just want to thank everyone up there for all the support you have shown me.

Just updating, today I am 1/3 done with the treatment and everything still going good.
I am sorry that I don't get in touch with everyone like I should be. I try to send out some emails but I know its not the same. I really apprieate everyone and I am sorry for not getting back to everyone. I hope that if I start putting more on here it might help out. I would not know how to act without friends like you all and I just want to say thanks for all the emails and everything else you all have done for me. I will be glad when I get home on June 4th so I can come and try to see alot of you at the gate

I am down to 7 more treatments left. Everything is going good. Still can't wait till I am back doing what I like doing and that is helping our members. This will be my next challenge getting myself on that other side of the gate
I also want to thank everyone for the dinner that was put on for me...still cannot get over everything that everyone has done for me.
Then I had the biggest surprise to happen today, went to eat and had the surprise of having Jimmy McNabb, Bill Polley, Steve and Shelton Lovelace sitting in the resturant watching me....talk about priceless. Had one great day and makes it worth hurring back home to friends at work.
